Chapter 4: A new hope...

So, after years of procrastination, busy times, relocating to a new country, having a daughter and shooting everything that moves I've finally pushed the button on my new site. As I'm a digital CD as well as a photographer it's been an uphill struggle to design a site that's easy to navigate, shows my work well but is also easy to update. In fact, I've redesigned this thing over 7 times in the last 18 months using (in no order):

Wordpress

Zenfolio

Hand coding in Dreamweaver

Photoshelter

Livebooks

and i've now settled on this - brought to you by Squarespace. Why? Well:

1. It was the easiest to add content and get it full screen and looking great

2. The CMS is a doddle to use

3. The pricing is competitive

4. The templates are sexy, but not ubiquitous (yet)

5. I've got real deep control (when I inevitably want to rip it apart)

So, yeah, I'm as happy as I'll ever be with my own website. Maybe I'll let the control freak in me hand the reigns over to Matt at BPDS for the next redesign.

Maybe.
